Recognizing the service of the Honorable John Yoder, member of the West Virginia Senate, dedicated public servant and distinguished West Virginian.

Whereas, John Yoder was born January 9, 1951, in Newton Kansas, the son of Gideon G. and Stella H. Yoder; and
Whereas, John Yoder received his education from Chapman College; University of Kansas and the University of Chicago, where he received his JD degree; and
Whereas, In 1994 and 2004, the Honorable John Yoder was elected to the West Virginia Senate from the sixteenth senatorial district; and
Whereas, During his tenure in the Senate, the Honorable John Yoder served as Senate Minority Whip during the 71st Legislature, and as a member of the Senate committees on Confirmations, Enrolled Bills, Finance, Interstate Cooperation, Labor and the Military. and Military; and
Whereas, The Honorable John Yoder has decided not to seek reelection to the West Virginia Senate in 2008, bringing to an end a long and dedicated career of public service; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the service of the Honorable John Yoder, member of the West Virginia Senate, dedicated public servant and distinguished West Virginian; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate hereby expresses its sincere appreciation to the Honorable John Yoder for his dedication and commitment to the citizens of the sixteenth senatorial district and the State of West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable John Yoder.
